June was a month of extreme weather - warm sunshine and torrential rains (Rajayoga above and Grand Art below)

Work mornings continued

The two-year-olds progressed well (pictured above)
including Sonny Sam, Locum, Kuriyama and Sergeant Sharpe
(pictured below - from left to right)

And the mares and foals at Dullingham Park Stud were still being brought in at night for the most part (Trew Class and her foal, pictured above),
as well as enjoying sunny days in the paddocks (below)

And, we had an interview with Johnny Weatherby of Weatherbys. Mark explained: "The Weatherby family has run the finances of racing since nearly the year dot, and Johnny is the current incumbent. They are constantly modernising and updating their offices and working practices and run a very helpful company."

Your favourite virtue: No b*ll***t

Your favourite qualities in a man: Enthusiasm and honesty

Your favourite qualities in a woman: Sense of humour and independence

Your biggest flaw: Some of the team at Weatherbys have murmured about impatience. But I haven't time to listen to such nonsense!

Your chief characteristic: Open minded

Your idea of happiness: Winning to Grand National or Cheltenham Gold Cup. On holiday anywhere with Sophie and the children

Your idea of misery: Running the London marathon again with Charles Egerton as a companion. 6 hours 10 minutes it took... (quicker than the first time!)

If not yourself, who would you be: George Best (pre-booze) or Mick Jagger

Your hero: Margaret Thatcher - people have very short memories of what Britain was like before she came on the scene

Your favourite motto: Treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself

Name four people (past or present) to join you for dinner: Nelson Mandela, Bridget Fonda, James Hunt and Captain Robert Scott

Your favourite horse: Red Rum - the commentary of him winning his 3rd National, still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Also Behrajan who I was lucky to own with six friends. Cost £9,000, won 11 races and £262,000, ran at the Cheltenham Festival on 4 occasions and also the Grand National. Any owner's dream. Only 9 when he very sadly died at Warwick

Your favourite race: The Grand National

Your favourite racecourse: Ascot - the best Flat racing in the world and ever improving jumping

Your best day's racing: Any day when I managed to ride a winner (absence makes the heart grow fonder!) and Behrajan winning the 2002 Cantorsport.co.uk Silver Cup Handicap Chase at Ascot by a neck giving everything else 13lbs. He deserved that one!
