Brushing having her first canter, since winning the Cumberland Plate, leading Kathleen Frances and Dazinsky''Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you are scared to death.'' - Harold Wilson
AstromoonAn overcast and dull morning but, again no rain and the forecasters keep telling us it is only going to get warmer over the weekend. Our normal weekend canter and a good pick of grass is the order of the day; also, plenty of horses in the swimming pool, which they really enjoy.
DazinskyA big disappointment that we could not have a runner today in the Northumberland Plate, as Dazinsky would have loved the ground. You just now watch as, when I enter him next, probably next weekend, it will pour and the ground will go soft. This has happened to him, at least three times, when we have withdrawn him on the day because of the ground. It will be a manic day at Newcastle as it always is with plenty of excited Geordies, trying to find the winner. The biggest danger is getting the jockeys to the paddock and back without them getting abuse or having a pease pudding thrown at them!
Smokey Oakey and Imjin RiverEngland play their next match tomorrow afternoon against Germany. Let us hope we can get through this one, I am quite confident that we will and predict a 2-0 score line with Lampard and Rooney, scoring in the first half. Phil has just commented that he hopes I am right and could I predict the time of scoring as he would like to have a bet. Here goes, the eighteenth and the thirty third minute.
