No Rules in action with Jimmy Quinn
REPORT BY JENKO - 13TH SEPTEMBER
'The weather and the fates have been against us since the last report and one to suffer was No Rules who arrived at Chepstow after good vibes from the clerk of the course about the ground. As you know the meeting was later abandoned to Mark's disgust and his comments were well-documented on the news page. And with Newcastle abandoned on Monday we have missed what seemed two nice opportunities with him. Mark has some alternatives in the near future. He is in good form and we are looking foreword to seeing him improve again next time.

Locum
'Locum did make it to Kempton but got upset in the stalls through no fault of his own. It was the horse in the next door stall that got upset consequently Locum kicked out, got his hind leg caught on the back gate and in the mayhem somehow came out underneath the front of the stalls. None the worse for this he will go for a stalls test this week at either Yarmouth or Newmarket before he runs again. Very frustrating for his owners many of whom went to Kempton, but he is in good form and our luck must surely change with him before long.

Jacobite Prince

'Jacobite Prince has missed a couple of engagements this week due to the ground being unsuitable but he is in good form and will have other entries in the near future.

Supera and Creative
'Supera ran with great promise at Great Leighs and will be out again within the next few weeks. We have plenty to look forward to with her. She showed herself to be very professional in everything she did under the lights, she returned home safely, ate up and has been out to stretch her leg since.

Four Miracles
'No chance of Four Miracles running on the prevailing ground but she is pleasing Mark in her work and has some considered entries later on this month as well as the Cesarewich in mid-October.
'Creative sustained an injury at Catterick which is a great pity as previously stated the run was full of promise, however he will now need time to recover and his options for next year are being considered.
'Fortunes Maid has settled in well with her new owner Sharon Goddard who rides her out regularly, we wish them both the best of luck for the future.
'We are still looking for a home for Peggle and have some interest which we hope will turn out positively.'

One of the pioneers of multiple ownership, Mark Tompkins is continuing his successful syndicates in 2008. One-twelfth shares in horses are available, and we keep things simple.

Jenko runs the syndicates for Mark and is the main point of contact for all the members. An ex-amateur jockey who also used to ride out at Flint Cottage on a regular basis, Jenko shares his enjoyment of the sport with the members via e-mail, telephone and in person.

HOW WE OPERATE
- All net prize-money won and the proceeds of any sale are divided proportionately between members.
- Our owners are welcome to visit the yard to see their horses in training on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- One complimentary owners' badge is guaranteed per member when your horse runs.
- There is no limit to the number of shares an individual, or group of people, can hold.
- Some members have been with us since the 1980s which is testament in itself to the enjoyment these syndicates bring.
Once a twelfth share has been purchased, a monthly payment of £170 to be paid retrospectively (starting from January 1st 2008) is required to cover all keep costs. A discount of 10% is offered for a full year's payment in advance and a 5% discount on future purchases for anyone introducing a new owner.
There will be nothing more to pay, other than in exceptional circumstances such as travel to race abroad or unusual veterinary bills. The monthly payment covers basic training costs, insurance for original yearling purchase price (against mortality), entry fees, travel to meetings, jockey fees, farrier's charges etc.
It is the responsibility of each individual member to sell his or her share if they wish to leave the syndicate, although obviously we would help with this as far as possible. If payments are not received for two successive months the share will be deemed to have lapsed, and will be lost with no refund or prize share due.
We are a friendly lot at Flint Cottage Stables, and Mark is always approachable at the races or at home.
